Software License Terms – BYB Bot Protection Pro Modular
These software license terms govern the use of BYB Bot Protection Pro Modular 2.0.0, the BYB core system, separately licensed BYB modules and other modular BYB software products.

1. Scope
These license terms apply to BYB Bot Protection Pro Modular 2.0.0, the BYB core system, separately available BYB modules, module bundles, update extensions, support extensions and all software components supplied under the respective purchase unless separate license terms are expressly stated.
2. Modular Product Structure
BYB Bot Protection Pro Modular consists of a central core system and separately installable modules. The core system provides the administration, module management, licensing, update functions and the technical framework required to operate compatible BYB modules.
Protection, monitoring, logging, reporting and other functions may be provided by separately available modules and are included only when the corresponding module or bundle has been purchased or otherwise licensed.
3. Subject of the License
The licensed software is a digital software product intended to provide a modular technical platform for protecting, monitoring and administering PHP-based websites and web applications.
The exact functions, included modules, system requirements, update periods and support periods are determined by the respective product description and the product version available at the time of purchase.
4. Grant of License
After full payment, the customer receives a simple, non-exclusive right to use each purchased BYB product in accordance with these license terms, the respective product description and the purchased license scope.
The license does not transfer ownership of the software, its source code, trademarks, documentation or other intellectual property rights to the customer.
5. BYB Core System and Module Dependencies
The BYB core system is the technical basis for BYB Bot Protection Pro Modular. A separately purchased module does not replace the core system and may require a compatible and licensed version of the BYB core system.
Modules may depend on other BYB modules or minimum module versions where this is stated in the product description, module information or technical requirements.
6. Separate Module Licenses
Each separately licensed BYB module is an independent licensed product. A license for the BYB core system does not automatically include licenses for additional modules unless the respective offer or bundle expressly states otherwise.
Where an individual module is supplied with its own license key, that key applies only to the corresponding module and the licensed installation.
7. Module Bundles
A module bundle grants rights of use only for the BYB products expressly included in that bundle at the time of purchase. Modules that are not part of the purchased bundle require a separate license.
The individual technical requirements and dependencies of the modules contained in a bundle remain applicable.
8. License Scope and Authorized Installation
The BYB core system and licensed modules may only be installed and used within the scope permitted by the purchased license and the respective product description.
Where a license is assigned to a specific website, domain or installation, use on another website, domain or installation requires an additional license or other authorization unless expressly agreed otherwise.
9. License Keys and Verification
The BYB core system and individual modules may use separate license keys. Each license key is assigned to the purchased product and may be used only within the permitted license scope.
For license verification, the software may compare the license key and technical installation information with the licensed domain or installation data stored by the licensor.
The customer must protect all license keys against unauthorized access and must not publish or disclose them to third parties except where necessary for the authorized use of the software.
10. Permitted Use
The customer may install, configure and use the licensed BYB core system and licensed modules for their intended purpose within the scope of the purchased licenses.
The customer may create backup copies where this is necessary for the lawful use, maintenance and safeguarding of the licensed software.
11. Prohibited Use
Except where permitted by mandatory law or expressly authorized by the licensor, the customer may not publish, distribute, reproduce for third parties, sublicense, rent or otherwise make the BYB core system, licensed modules or substantial protected parts of them available to unauthorized third parties.
License keys may not be shared between installations in a manner that exceeds the purchased license scope.
The software may not be used to develop or distribute an unauthorized competing copy or derivative product based substantially on protected parts of the BYB software.
12. Modification and Technical Adaptation
Changes to settings, configuration files and documented integration points that are intended for customization are permitted within the scope of normal use.
Unauthorized changes to protected core or module components are made at the customer's own risk and may affect functionality, compatibility, licensing, updates or support.
Mandatory statutory rights relating to software, including rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted, remain unaffected.
13. Updates
The BYB core system and individual modules can have separate versions and separate update packages. An update entitlement applies only for the period and products covered by the purchased license, extension or offer.
Where legally required, updates necessary to maintain the conformity and security of the digital product will be provided for the applicable statutory period.
New major versions, additional modules, new features or extended update periods are included only where expressly stated in the product description, customer account or respective offer.
14. Support
Support is provided only for the products and during the support period stated in the respective product description, purchase, extension, offer or customer account.
A support extension extends only the applicable support period and does not automatically grant licenses for additional modules, major versions or other products.
Support does not include the administration of third-party systems, the correction of problems caused by unsupported environments or the development of individual custom functions unless separately agreed.
15. System Requirements and Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for ensuring that the system requirements stated for BYB Bot Protection Pro Modular 2.0.0 and the installed modules are met and that the software is operated in a suitable technical environment.
The customer is responsible for creating appropriate backups before installation, module installation, updates or significant configuration changes.
16. Third-Party Software and Components
Third-party software, libraries or components included with or used by the BYB core system or individual modules may be subject to their own license terms. Those license terms remain unaffected.
17. No Guarantee of Complete Protection
BYB Bot Protection Pro Modular and its protection modules are designed to reduce and control unwanted automated access and security-related requests. However, no software can guarantee complete protection against every bot, automated request, attack, abuse attempt or future technical threat.
The protection actually available depends on the licensed and activated modules, their configuration, the server environment and the technical characteristics of the protected website.
Unless expressly guaranteed, the licensor does not promise that every unwanted request or every automated access attempt will be detected or prevented.
18. Warranty
The statutory warranty rights apply.
Problems caused by unsupported system environments, incompatible third-party extensions, missing required modules, unauthorized changes, incorrect installation or use outside the specified system requirements are not defects for which the licensor is responsible, unless the licensor is responsible for the relevant circumstances.
19. Liability
The licensor is liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence and for damages resulting from injury to life, body or health.
In cases of slight negligence, the licensor is liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations. In such cases, liability is limited to the typical, foreseeable damage.
Any further liability exists only where required by mandatory law.
20. Transfer of Licenses
Any transfer of a license for the BYB core system, a module or another BYB product must comply with the applicable statutory requirements and must not result in unauthorized simultaneous use.
Where several separately licensed BYB products are used together, the transferability of each individual license must be assessed separately unless they were licensed as an inseparable package.
Mandatory statutory rights, including legally applicable exhaustion principles, remain unaffected.
21. Term and End of the Right of Use
The duration of the right of use for the BYB core system and each licensed module is determined by the purchased license and the applicable product description.
Upon lawful termination of a right of use, the customer must cease unauthorized use of the affected BYB product and remove copies to the extent legally required.
22. Copyright and Intellectual Property
The BYB core system, modules, protected program components, documentation, graphics, names and other protected content remain the intellectual property of their respective rights holders.
The customer receives only the rights of use expressly granted by these license terms, the respective product description and mandatory law.
23. Applicable Law
German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which the customer has their habitual residence remain unaffected.
24. Severability
If any provision of these license terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain unaffected. Statutory provisions apply in place of the invalid provision.

The license terms applicable to an individual purchase are the version accepted at the time of purchase. The applicable version is documented with the purchase and may also be provided to the customer as a PDF.
